John Elaf Johnson and Anna Akson leave Sweden
John Elaf Johnson, Anna Akeson, and their three year old daughter Jennie Ulreca Johnson left Malmo, Sweden via the Bremen Liner on April 27, 1883. They landed in Baltimore, Maryland, then proceeded to Chicago before they left for River Falls, Wisconsin in October. The family settled in River Falls permanently.
Anna and John had an additional six children in the United States. Their names were Harry C. Johnson, Stanley I. Johnson, Edith Johnson Soderberg, Eleanor JOhnson Soderberg, ELeanor Johnson Dahlquist, Ike B. Johnson, and Nels Johnson. Nels passed on in infancy, but all the othe children lived to adulthood.
